We gutted our 1960s kitchen in Sherman Oaks down to the studs, and honestly I was bracing for a nightmare. It wasn't. They found a rotted subfloor under the old sink on day two, showed me photos, gave me a price for it the same afternoon, and kept going. New layout, island with seating, quartz counters - done in about seven weeks. My wife cooks every night now instead of ordering in.
We hired Elevate to build a detached ADU for my parents in our backyard in Pasadena. They handled the plans and the permit back-and-forth with the city, which was the part I was dreading most. The unit came out bright and really well built, and my mom loves the walk-in shower. Our project manager answered texts on weekends, which I didn't expect.
Good crew, good quality. We did a full bathroom remodel plus new flooring through the downstairs. The tile work is excellent. Took about two weeks longer than the original estimate because of a backorder on the vanity, but they told us early and didn't let the site sit idle - they moved on to the floors in the meantime. Would hire again.
Second project with these guys. First was a small deck repair, this time a whole kitchen and laundry room. Same thing both times: clean site at the end of every day, no surprise charges, and the final walkthrough punch list was closed out within a week. Kids and a dog in the house the entire time and it was manageable.
We added a primary suite over the garage - about 450 sq ft with a bathroom. Structural work, new electrical panel, the whole thing. They were straightforward about what the city would and wouldn't approve, which saved us from redesigning twice. Only reason it's not a full five is a couple of trim details I had to ask them to redo, but they fixed it without any pushback.
Converted our old two-car garage in Glendale into a rental ADU. They helped us figure out the layout so it actually feels like a small apartment and not a garage with a bed in it. Inspection passed first try, and we had a tenant within a month of finishing. Already talking to them about redoing our main house kitchen next year.
